Water water everywhare

What a night, went down to the yacht club to help James with the boat. When I arrived I learned the motor had fallen into the water, probably 10 Ft or more. In what I can only refer to as a McGiverism James tied sticks together lashed a bent piece of metal fashioned in the shape of a hook to the very end and in one swoop pulled the motor from the depths. I stood in amazement as the motor seemed to float through the air and onto the dock." I saw it before it happened" exclaimed James. Is he psychic or psycho? you be the judge. James took the motor home as he and I were unable to start it. Tomorrow is another day, tomorrow we will be kings of the sea.
What else is new? you will have to tune in tomorrow for the next episode.

How much per ltr.! give me another beer.

July is flying by, the 22nd already, summer will be gone before you know it. I see a noticeable increase in cars just in the last few days. Rumour has it tourism is down 5-7% in town and the number is higher outside of town, not sure about Summerside? Not good, not good at all, and if the truth be known I believe the numbers are higher than rumoured. Can't really blame anyone in particular just the whole damn economy. The price of gas comes up in every conversation, it gives me gas listen but nothing I can do.
My advice, love your children drink more beer and forget about the high gas prices. That's what I do, love you Alexa, want a beer? fill her up buddy there is a lot more ware that came from. That really isn't my attitude but in this economy one must maintain a sense of humour.
Our brothers James and Matt return today from the western front, pictures and stories of the great adventure will be our entertainment for the next few days. I hear talk of a movie?
Wish you all a great day
all for now Kier

Hot sticky not busy

I left the Island for a few days went across the bridge to Canada, paved roads, pretty girls, felt like a vacation.
Tourism isn't very brisk, it will be interesting to see what lies the government tells regarding the number of visitors we receive this summer. I for one see a sharp decline in the numbers, what does this mean to Islanders? Tourism has become our number one industry, if tourism is down the entire economy suffers. We have to work together to create a future, we are more than donut shops and draft beer.
Cultural education, activity creates activity. Education employs people creating long term jobs and brings students from around the world. These students spend money on rent, food, entertainment, the list goes on. This is a special place, a peaceful place and we attract the world community, they want to come we need only give them a reasond. Build it and they will come!
We need to come together as a community before we go broke as a community, look around at the empty shops, the students looking for summer employment, the number of families right in your own back yard working just to pay the heat and lights. I don't know about you but I am proud to be an Islander, I want my neighbour to be rich and the Island economy to be strong.
It's hot and sticky and I need a beer, Mr. Bins we can only give direction it is up to you chosen few to implement the wishes of the people.

What day is it anyway

How is everybody doing out there? Do you find the days don't have enough hours, sometimes in summer the days just seem to wash into each other. I was asked today what day tomorrow was, now I want to see a show of hands right now, how many of you don't know what tomorrow is, take a look at all those hands, I'm not alone!
Most of us have forgotten the days before the cell phone, remember weekends off ha that was great. Big business and greed have changed things forever, now a weekend can be Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday how can that be called the weekend.
Personally I miss the five day week, hate the cell phone, Sunday shopping, and all the other infractions that bring down the quality of life in our world community.

Summer in the city

July 7th already,Things are slow getting started, price of gas and cool temperatures don't help.
Danny Murphy and Tim Hortons have come to the aid of the community with the Charlottetown Jazz and Blues festival. This is a good example of a corporate citizen working to improve the local community culturally as well as economically.
WE thank you Danny for taking the initiative to create this event.
My friend Yarrow was over from the big city of Halifax for a few days. She, brother James and myself had a great time last weekend driving around rescuing citizens in the beater response vehicle. The local taxi services were full to capacity, I told Neal two cars just aren't enough in tourist seasoned.
Yarrow is the daughter of brother James, must have received her looks from her mothers side of the family. Don't be a stranger girl, your company is appreciated.
James and son Matt are heading west on Monday, 6:20 PM James mom has invited them out for what I know will be a great adventure.
I was flattered today by the lovely Brenda who informed me that she has been reading my blogg and encourages me to continue, thanks Brenda I appreciate the encouragement.
My lovely daughter Alexa is still locked in the fort and has not been heard from at least by myself for what seems like forever, your father loves you, write soon.
As for me I remain your capped crusader fighting for culture in all the wrong places.

Out of Control

Disposable income And Single Digit Taxes Just A fading Memory

You remember disposable income? It paid for the three beer you used to be able to afford after a hard days work or dinner at your favourite restaurant or a night at the movies with your family.
No more Mr.Nice Guy.

Big brother has all our disposable income and is asking now for our savings, he smiles and tells us not to worry, I for one am sick of eating cake.

Perhaps we should cut off any and all political contributions?
A dollar is a dollar and if the tax man takes 30 cents+ then you only have less than 70 cents and that ain't a dollar. Combine this with all the other new fees and taxes and it makes one wonder what a dollar is really worth?

Me not happy!
