And On The Third Day

What do these things have in common?
Charlottetown The East Coast Music Awards and sleep depravation.
It's been three days without sleep and that beer I had for breakfast tasted good so I had a Caesar for desert!
How do I look?
Dave Howard and I have been capturing the action on video as well as digital and Dave has posted the still shots on peiinfo.Com . We will be putting shots on the Kier Gallery site as well but for those of you who are anxious to see yourself check out the pictures here.
The music is terrific the musicians have been ladies and gentlemen I have heard not a discoursing word.
Another tune please and how about another beer? Is that Jimmy West and Richard Wood on the sidewalk? Chris why don't you go out and see if they will come in and play a tune. Offer to buy them a few beer, put them on John Dennis's tab. What do you mean he doesn't have one? he told me you gave him one! Biggy your in trouble.
Chamberlane, I can't say enough about those guys, they have been playing here for years and it's always a blast. They organized the show at Brennan's this ECMA weekend and it was awesome.
More to see places to go music to hear

27 Years Behind Bars

I'm no criminal!

I've been bar tending in this town for the past 27 years. During that time I met many great people heard more strange stories than I can remember and the ones I do remember I can't repeat.
I am taking time off this ECMAs to enjoy the events. Keith Kennedy borrowed the camera equipment from IMAC and has appointed his film crew, I drive the truck and scout locations. Why can't I be director?
The events start this Thursday at Brennan's, already I can feel an energy in the air. Buzz,Buzz,Buzz! Or is that Dave Howard snoring?
I am looking forward to seeing you all there.
We will be putting info as well as pics on this site for your viewing enjoyment.
All for now

Urban Carmichael -The Legend

The Urban Legend Lives On
Our old friend Urban Carmichael went for a long walk about.
I have known Urban and the Carmichael family as long as I can remember.
I slept at the desk next to Danny, grade 11 Morell High.
Over the past 27 years Urban, Danny and Johnny would arrive at my place (Brennan's Pub And Eatery) usually Johnny first asking if I had seen Urban or Danny then Urban and last but not least Danny.
Urban would entertain us for hours with his humour and tall tales, he enjoyed a good argument loved his friends dearly and always left you wanting more.
I last spoke with Urban 10 days ago at Campbell Websters place(Timothy's), Urban gave me a big smile and said "How are ya lad your looking good, hows that gallery thing goin?"
Urbans funeral was this morning 10:30. Prince Edward Island and Canada have lost a great citizen.
Urban was a friend to all he will be missed.

In Search Of The Perfect Wave

Have you had the experience of looking across a room having someone you really like wave at you only to realize it was not you they were waving at.
Don't you hate that feeling?
And you wonder if they saw you standing there looking so vulnerable?
Oh yeah! They saw you.
Hay! It might have been your wave.

Love to all

A Buzz With The Buzz

It's hard to believe It's February 3rd already. The snow we received is quickly disappearing and according to the groundhog it will be an early spring. Keep your fingers crossed.
ECMAs are looking good.
New Buzz on the shelves and the lineup of talent for the month of February in Charlottetown is phenomenal to say the least.
Peter, Nancy, Yanik and the rest of the Buzz team deserve a big round of applause. The Buzz is a monthly publication featuring art's and cultural events across PEI.
Peter, I can't tell you how much we appreciate you and the service you perform. On behalf of the community we give you a big hug.
What else is up?
Dave Howard and Robert Arsenault are collaborating on a special kitchen party February 23-ECMA eve. There are rumours of fiddling legend Roy Jonstone, The keyboard wizardry of John Connolly, the voice of Sid MacMillan, Chris Kenny And The Brennan's Choir, the multi- talented Jimmy Hornby, singer songwriter Jim West and the list goes on.
So! what are your plans?
If you are in the Maritimes you owe it to yourself to make the trip. I remember the last ECMAs they were a blast. The Stones in Moncton, WOW!
If you miss this party your going to kick yourself! The party is happening! I give you my personal invitation, please come to Charlottetown for the ECMAs.
Is there a Dr. in the house?
This is Friday and my friend John Connolly is playing in the bar. I bid you a good night as I am off for a listen, come along if you like.
