Dead Or Alive

What a great day
Started the day having Coffee with a beautiful and charming friend.
Enjoyed the company of the famous Jim Brennan.
Had my picture taken by Sally Cole for next weeks article in the Guardian on the banner project.
Enjoyed the music of Marvin Birt over a six course dinner prepared by Chef Kent Wilson in honour of our departing co workers.
And to end the evening the sounds of Sleep To Dream.
Check the obituaries tomorrow to see if I'm still here.

Lava Life

Many of my friends subscribe to this service and say it is a lot of fun.
They meet new people on line, go on dates and in some cases have started a relationship.
I have a hard enough time asking out girls I know.
Will she say yes?
Will she say no?
Does she even like me?
The thought of rejection has definitely affected my life.
Mr. Outgoing 90% of the time but when in the company of a woman I am interested in.
Forgetaboutit!
my brain and my tong trip over each other I land in a pile on the floor asking myself, what just happened?
HELP!
I called a real girl last week to ask her to lunch.
it was stressful getting up the nerve to tackle my fears of rejection.
After all it's just lunch.
When the answering machine kicked in and my brain shut down my tong tripped over it self.
I could only hope that I didn't sound as stupid to her as I did to myself.
Ah! Ah! Hi! Oh yeah hi oh man I'm talking to a machine Ah,Ah. how are you any way, I miss your company, Hay how about lunch sometime?
How many of you have had the answering machine experience?
And then!
Do you call again?
And what if a real person answers?
Perhaps Lava Life would be easier.no pre conceived notions of who the other person is and no fear of rejection, after all it's just a computer your talking to and not a real person.

Who Are We?

I am amazed at some in our community when it comes to being part of the community.
NOT!
The Kier Gallery put out an invitation to island artists to participate in a Charlottetown banner project as well the gallery fall art festival.
A twenty dollars registration fee was requested in order that we advertise the event.
E-mail from Community Artist
It doesn't matter who.
Question- is it a CARFAC event?
Answer
NO
We are a community gallery this is a community art show and all artists in the community are welcome.
Question, Who will profit from this twenty dollars?
Ah!
The art's community.
All twenty dollars will go toward the promotion of the event.
What is The Kier Gallery?
This space has been made available for the past eight years
We are a not for profit artist run gallery with terrific supporters,
no government assistance, no CAFFAC assistance, no Canada Council assistance.
We would appreciate help from the mentioned groups but do not receive any at this time.
With a little help from our friends we are build a community, we exclude no one, we include everyone.
If the twenty dollars is a problem for our member The Kier gallery will pay the fee for that member.
As you know Karl we offer the gallery space for free to life drawing,Script readings, literary events, Art openings, artist shows community events and educational classes. We ask only that participants in events help with the advertising for that event.
Hope this clears things up.
