Who Will Be King

P.E.I. Provincial Election 2007

At the farmers market on Saturday I was amazed by the interest in the up coming election.
I mentioned to my nephew Rufus who works at the market that I had recently spoken with one of the candidates. This sparked a conversation that lasted for over an hour and involved at least fifteen others interjecting an opinion as they passed. All were credible and from the heart.
So many islanders voicing on so many subjects and trying to decide who will best lead our community forward.
I know many of the candidates, they are all great people and great Islanders.
The issues will determine the out come,
I look forward to next Saturday at the market.
Keep an open mind and have a great day

Bridging The Millenium

Ten Years After
The Kier Gallery will be creating a show based on the first ten years of the Confederation Bridge. We are asking artists and photographers to help us in making this one of the most interesting shows of the year. We will be advertising in the Guardian as well the Buzz magazine for submissions and will be holding the show in early summer.
We are excited by the images we have received to date and are working on the idea of partnering with other galleries across the country to package this as a traveling educational art show.
Have a great day
Your friend
Kier

At The Confederation Centre Of The Arts

The lecture by Judith Scherer scheduled for Tuesday April 17th has been
postponed.

In it place we will be presenting a lecture by Ihor Holubizky.

Ihor Holubizky has held curatorial position in Canada - at the Art
Gallery at Harbourfront and Power Plant, Toronto; the Art Gallery of
Hamilton; and the Kelowna Art Gallery - and in Australia, at the Museum
of Contemporary Art, Sydney, and the Queensland University of Technology
Cultural Precinct and Art Museum, Brisbane. He taught at the Ontario
College of Art; has guest lectured in Canada, the United States, Brazil,
Japan, and Australia.
Ihor will be talking about what curators do and what they can't do -
stories that art can tell us, but only if we're prepared to listen.

The talk will take place Tuesday April 17th at 7 pm in the Gallery.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
