Workshops coming up before Christmas:
a.. Sense of Direction - Directing workshop with local producer/director Sean Yeomans of Telos Productions with professional First AD from Halifax, Jason Shipley. This is an entry/mid-level course. (Level One)
a.. What does a Director do? Learn the tips of the trade, practice your directing skills, learn how to block and interpret a scene, and more.
b.. Date: Sun. Nov. 18th 1pm - 5pm
c.. Location: The Kier Gallery, 132 Richmond St., Charlottetown.
d.. Fee: $30 members/ $35 non-members
a.. So You Think You Can Write - Scriptwriting with acclaimed and award-winning scriptwriter Cheryl Wagner who has written for such successful shows as Fraggle Rock and Big Comfy Couch. This is an entry/mid-level course. (Level One)
a.. How do you write a treatment? How do you develop the narrative arc? How do you show rather than tell? All this and more.
b.. Dates: Tues/Thurs/Tues Nov. 20/22/27 6:30pm - 9pm
c.. Location: IMAC - Top Floor of The Guild, Charlottetown
d.. Fee: $40 members/ $48 non-members
a.. Animate This - Stop Motion Animation with acclaimed New Brunswick animator Tara Wells - Tara has created animations that have screened at festivals all over Canada, and has also recently animated a music video for Canadian Indie-music-darling Julie Doiron. You can check out her work at www.verysillymonkey.com Tara will also be presenting a selection of her work at the December Centred Screening and giving a special artist talk. This is an entry/mid-level course. (Level One)
